7th Grade Project

The 7th Grade Program: After researching the feasibility of three new "kidspaces," such as a ballpark, skating rink, skateboard park, soccer field, basketball or tennis court, students will choose one to design and build. They will learn how to conduct a survey and analyze information, evaluate alternative locations, how to use scale, estimate land usage, understand charts and figure space. Their new kidspace will be built in a 11" X 17" box top from recycled materials with a maximum $5 budget.

7th Grade Project:

While students are working on this project, they will have several challenges. They will have to listen well and follow directions. They will have to figure out solutions. They will have to be flexible so you can change your thinking whenever something different comes up. They will have to do your share of the work on time and completely. And they will have to be a good team member.

All of these qualities are necessary for someone who is charged to help build a building, a road, a ball park or … a KidSpace! They have $30 million dollars and some requirements to include. What will they choose?
